Soon other bands like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple joined in. Metal fans love the strong sound and exciting live shows.

Many famous bands play heavy metal. Metallica from the United States is one of the biggest metal bands ever. Iron Maiden from England is also very popular. These bands play long, fast guitar solos that are amazing to hear. Metal concerts often have flashing lights, smoke, and huge crowds.
