Line Dancing
Line Dancing
Line dancing is a fun type of group dance. Everyone stands in rows and does the same steps at the same time. You do not need a partner. The steps repeat so they are easy to learn. Line dancing is popular at parties, weddings, and country music events.
How Line Dancing Works
Dancers stand in lines facing the same direction. A caller or song tells them what steps to do. Everyone steps, slides, turns, and claps together. After a set of moves, the dancers turn and face a new direction. The same steps start again.
Popular Line Dances
The Electric Slide is one of the most famous line dances. The Cha Cha Slide tells you exactly what to do in the song. The Cotton-Eyed Joe is a fast, fun country line dance. Line dancing is done at country music events but also at all kinds of parties.
