Renaissance Art
Renaissance Art
Renaissance art was made in Europe a long time ago. The Renaissance was a time when people loved learning and art. It began in Italy around the year 1400. Artists worked hard to make their paintings look real. They painted people, nature, and stories from the Bible.
Famous Artists
The Renaissance had some of the greatest artists ever. Leonardo da Vinci painted the famous Mona Lisa. Michelangelo carved the statue of David from marble. He also painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Raphael made beautiful paintings of angels and people. These artists are still loved today.
New Ideas in Art
Renaissance artists learned new tricks to make art look real. They used something called perspective to show depth. This makes the paintings look like you could walk into them. Artists studied bodies and plants to draw them better. They also used bright new paints and big canvases. Their work changed art forever.
