Weaving
Weaving is a way to make cloth. It uses threads that go over and under each other. People weave on a tool called a loom. Weaving has been done for thousands of years all over the world.
How Weaving Works
One set of threads is held tight on the loom. These are called warp threads. Another thread, called the weft, goes over and under the warp. This makes the cloth strong. You can use many colors to make patterns.
Kinds of Weaving
Baskets are woven from grass or reeds. Rugs are woven from wool or cotton. Some people weave blankets, clothes, or wall art. Navajo weavers in America are famous for their beautiful patterns.
