Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He was one of the greatest composers ever. A composer is a person who writes music. Mozart started making music when he was very young. People still love his music today.
A Young Star
Mozart could play the piano when he was only three years old. By age five, he was writing his own songs. His father took him on trips across Europe. Young Mozart played music for kings and queens. People were amazed by the little boy who could make such beautiful music.

Mozart wrote more than 600 pieces of music in his life. He wrote operas, which are plays where the actors sing. He also wrote symphonies for big groups of musicians. Some of his famous works are The Magic Flute and Eine kleine Nachtmusik. His music is still played all over the world.
