Alberta is a province in western Canada. It is home to part of the Rocky Mountains and has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. Alberta is known for its dinosaur fossils, cowboy culture, and rich oil deposits. Banff and Jasper are two of Canada's most famous national parks.
Land and People
About 4.5 million people live in Alberta. The two biggest cities are Calgary and Edmonton, the capital. The western part has the Rocky Mountains, while the eastern part has flat prairies. Alberta has forests, grasslands, and badlands where dinosaur bones are found.
Culture and Fun Facts
The Calgary Stampede is one of the biggest rodeos in the world, held every July. Alberta's Dinosaur Provincial Park has some of the richest dinosaur fossil beds on Earth. The province is also Canada's biggest oil producer. Lake Louise in Banff National Park has stunning turquoise water.
