Bavaria
Bavaria is a big state in the south of Germany. It has beautiful mountains called the Alps. The area is known for pretty villages, green forests, and tall castles. People wear special clothes called lederhosen and dirndls for celebrations. Bavaria has its own traditions and local foods.
Mountains and Castles
The Bavarian Alps stretch across the southern part of the state. People ski and hike in the mountains. Neuschwanstein Castle looks like something from a fairy tale. It was built by a king who loved stories and music. Walt Disney was inspired by this castle for his famous cartoons.
Cities and Festivals
Munich is the capital of Bavaria. The city is famous for a huge festival called Oktoberfest. People dance, eat pretzels, and enjoy music. Bavarian food includes sausages, sauerkraut, and apple cake. Many Christmas markets light up the cities in winter.
