Botswana

Botswana is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It has one of the most successful democracies in Africa. Botswana is famous for the Okavango Delta, a huge inland water paradise, and has more elephants than any other country.

Land and People

About 2.4 million people live in Botswana. The capital is Gaborone. Most of the country is covered by the Kalahari Desert. The Okavango Delta is a lush wetland in the middle of the desert where the river spreads out instead of reaching the sea.
