California

California is a state in the western United States. It sits along the Pacific Ocean. It is the most populated state in the country. California has big cities, tall mountains, sandy beaches, and hot deserts. Its capital is Sacramento.

Land and Nature

California has many different kinds of land. You can find forests of giant redwood trees that are some of the tallest in the world. The state also has Death Valley, one of the hottest places on Earth. The Sierra Nevada mountains run along the eastern side. The Pacific Ocean forms its long western coast.

Los Angeles and San Francisco are two famous cities in California. Hollywood, in Los Angeles, is where many movies and TV shows are made. Many farms in California grow fruits, nuts, and vegetables for the whole country. Disneyland is a popular theme park here. People from all over the world live in California.
