Catalonia is a region in the northeast of Spain. It sits by the Mediterranean Sea and next to France. People in Catalonia speak Catalan as well as Spanish. The region has beaches, mountains, and busy cities. It is famous for its art, food, and soccer team.

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. It is a big city with amazing buildings designed by an artist named Antoni Gaudi. The huge Sagrada Familia church has been under construction for over 140 years. The city has sandy beaches and busy markets. Many tourists visit every year.
