Connecticut
Connecticut is a small state in the northeastern United States. It is part of a region called New England. Connecticut has rocky beaches, rolling hills, and many old towns. The capital is Hartford. It is one of the original 13 colonies.
History
Connecticut has lots of history. It became a colony in 1636 when settlers came from Massachusetts. Many important events of the American Revolution happened here. Yale University, one of the oldest and most famous colleges in America, is in New Haven, Connecticut. The state is nicknamed the Constitution State.
Places to See
Connecticut has many fun places to visit. Mystic Seaport is a museum that shows what old sailing towns looked like. The state also has the Long Island Sound, where people go boating and fishing. There are many forests and state parks for hiking. In the fall, the trees turn beautiful shades of red and orange.
