Gabon
Gabon is a country on the west coast of central Africa. It sits right on the equator, so it is warm all year. Most of the country is covered in thick rainforest. About 2.3 million people live in Gabon, and the capital is Libreville.
Amazing Rainforest
Gabon is mostly rainforest, which means it has a huge number of plants and animals. Gorillas, chimpanzees, and forest elephants all live in the jungle. You might even spot hippos swimming in the ocean waves. The country has 13 national parks that protect the wildlife. Loango National Park is famous for its beaches where elephants and gorillas walk. Scientists love coming to Gabon to study the animals.
