Kenya is a country in East Africa on the equator. It is famous for its incredible wildlife safaris and fast long-distance runners. Kenya has wide savannas, tropical coastlines, and the Great Rift Valley.

About 55 million people live in Kenya. The capital is Nairobi. The Maasai Mara is one of the best places to see wild animals in the world. Kenya has mountains, lakes, and a coast on the Indian Ocean.

Culture and Fun Facts

Kenyan runners are some of the fastest in the world and often win big marathons. The Maasai people are famous for their red clothes and jumping dances. Ugali, a cornmeal porridge, is eaten at most meals. Kenya grows some of the world's best tea and coffee.

Did You Know?

Every year, about 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras travel across Kenya and Tanzania in the Great Migration. It is the largest animal migration on Earth. They travel in a big circle following the rains and fresh grass.
