Malta
Malta is a group of small islands in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. It is south of Italy and north of Africa. Malta is one of the smallest countries in Europe. The islands are covered with old buildings, forts, and temples. Some of the temples are more than 5,000 years old.
Islands and Sea
Malta has three main islands: Malta, Gozo, and Comino. The sea around them is a bright blue color. Beaches have rocky cliffs and sandy shores. Many people enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and boating here. The weather is sunny and warm most of the year. Fish, octopus, and other sea foods are popular meals.
History and Culture
Malta has a very long history. Many different groups have lived there, including ancient Phoenicians, Romans, and Arabs. The Knights of Malta built strong forts on the islands long ago. The capital city, Valletta, is full of old stone buildings and churches. People speak Maltese and English, and many festivals happen all year long.
