Monaco
Monaco
Monaco is a tiny country on the southern coast of France. It sits right next to the Mediterranean Sea. Monaco is the second smallest country in the world, after Vatican City. The country is ruled by a royal family called the Grimaldis. Its most famous area is Monte Carlo.
A Small Country
Monaco is so small you can walk across it in about an hour. It has tall buildings packed close together on the cliffs above the sea. The harbor is full of fancy boats and big yachts. There are pretty gardens, museums, and an old palace on a rocky hill. Even though the country is small, lots of people live and work there.
Races and Royals
Monaco is famous for the Monaco Grand Prix, a car race held through its streets every year. Race cars zoom past buildings, around corners, and through a tunnel. The country also has a royal family who live in a palace high above the sea. Guards in white uniforms protect the palace. Many famous people visit Monaco for its sunny weather and beautiful views.
