Nebraska is a state in the Great Plains region of the United States. It has wide open prairies and is one of the top cattle-raising states in the country. Nebraska is also known for its love of college football. The state is called the Cornhusker State.

About 2 million people live in Nebraska. The capital is Lincoln, and the largest city is Omaha. The eastern part of the state has green farmland. The western part has drier grasslands and the unique Sandhills, one of the largest grass-covered dune areas in the world.
