Sudan

Sudan is a large country in northeastern Africa. The Blue Nile and White Nile rivers meet in the capital to form the great Nile River. Sudan has ancient pyramids that are older and more numerous than Egypt's.

Land and People

About 47 million people live in Sudan. The capital is Khartoum, where the two Niles meet. Sudan has deserts in the north, grasslands in the center, and swamps in the south. It is the third largest country in Africa.
