Tanzania

Tanzania is a large country in East Africa. It has Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, and the Serengeti, one of the greatest wildlife areas on Earth. Tanzania also has the beautiful island of Zanzibar.

Land and People

About 65 million people live in Tanzania. The capital is Dodoma. Mount Kilimanjaro rises to 19,341 feet. The Serengeti Plain is home to millions of animals. Tanzania also has Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa.

The Serengeti hosts the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. Swahili is the main language and 'hakuna matata' is a real Swahili phrase meaning 'no worries.' Zanzibar island is famous for its spices and white sand beaches. People eat ugali with vegetables and meat.
