Ukraine is a large country in Eastern Europe. It is the biggest country located entirely within Europe. Ukraine has wide open farmland, golden sunflower fields, and a rich cultural history. The people are known for their strength and spirit.

About 44 million people live in Ukraine. The capital is Kyiv, one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe. Ukraine has flat, fertile plains called steppes that are perfect for farming. The Carpathian Mountains rise in the west.
