Vietnam is a long, narrow country in Southeast Asia. It has beautiful green mountains, rice terraces, and a stunning bay with thousands of limestone islands. Vietnamese food, especially pho soup, is enjoyed all over the world.

Land and People

About 100 million people live in Vietnam. The capital is Hanoi. Vietnam is shaped like the letter S. Ha Long Bay has over 1,600 limestone islands rising out of the emerald water. The Mekong River Delta in the south is full of floating markets.
