Spinosaurus
Spinosaurus may have been the biggest meat-eating dinosaur ever. It was even bigger than T. Rex! It had a huge sail on its back made of tall spines. Spinosaurus lived about 95 million years ago in what is now North Africa.
Bigger Than T. Rex
Spinosaurus was about 50 feet long, which is longer than T. Rex. It may have weighed up to 8 tons. The sail on its back could be over 5 feet tall. Scientists are not sure what the sail was for. It may have helped attract mates or control body heat.
A Swimming Dinosaur
Spinosaurus is the first dinosaur known to have lived partly in water. It had a long, narrow snout like a crocodile. Its teeth were cone-shaped, perfect for catching fish. It had short back legs and a paddle-like tail for swimming. It spent much of its time in rivers.
Fun Facts
