Clean Water
Clean Water
Clean water is one of the most important things for life. People, animals, and plants all need it to live. Clean water has no germs, chemicals, or dirt in it. Many places have pipes that bring clean water to homes. But not everyone in the world has clean water yet.
Where Clean Water Comes From
Clean water often starts from rivers, lakes, or wells. It goes to a special place called a treatment plant. There, dirt and germs are taken out. Then it travels through pipes to homes and schools. Some people also clean water with filters at home.
Saving Water
Even though Earth has lots of water, only a little is safe to drink. That is why we should not waste it. Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. Take shorter showers to save gallons of water. Fixing leaky faucets also helps save clean water.
Fun Facts
- About 60% of the human body is made of water.
- A leaky faucet can waste thousands of gallons in a year.
- It takes around 13 gallons of water to grow just one orange.
