Rainforest Conservation
Rainforests are huge, wet forests full of tall trees and amazing animals. They grow in warm places near the equator. Sadly, many rainforests are being cut down. Conservation means keeping rainforests safe. When we protect them, we help the Earth stay healthy.
Why Rainforests Matter
Rainforests are home to millions of plants and animals. Many live nowhere else on Earth. The trees give us clean air to breathe. They also soak up rain and keep the soil in place. Some of our medicines come from rainforest plants too.
How We Can Help
People can help by planting new trees and saving old ones. We can use less paper and recycle more. Buying things that do not harm forests is smart. Kids can learn about rainforests and share what they know. Every small action helps.
Fun Facts
- More than half of all animal and plant species live in rainforests.
- A single rainforest tree can be home to hundreds of different bugs.
- The Amazon rainforest is so big it makes its own rain clouds.
Did You Know?
About 20 percent of the air we breathe comes from the Amazon rainforest, which is why people call it the lungs of the Earth.
