Tree Planting

Tree planting is a fun way to help the Earth. People dig a hole and place a young tree inside. Then they fill it with soil and add water. Over time, the tree grows tall and strong. Trees give us shade, clean air, and homes for animals.

Why We Plant Trees

Trees soak up a gas called carbon dioxide. They give us oxygen that we need to breathe. Trees also keep the soil in place so it does not wash away. Many animals need trees for food and shelter. Planting trees helps fight climate change.

First, pick a spot with enough sun and space. Dig a hole a little bigger than the roots. Place the young tree gently in the hole. Fill the hole with soil and press it down. Give it water and keep an eye on it as it grows.
