The Himalayas are a huge mountain range in Asia. They stretch across several countries, including Nepal, India, and China. Many of the tallest mountains in the world are in the Himalayas. People from around the world come to explore them.
The Tallest Mountains
The Himalayas have 14 mountains that are over 26,000 feet tall. Mount Everest is the highest one of all. Climbers try hard to reach the tops of these giant peaks. The weather in the Himalayas can change very fast. Strong winds and snowstorms are common near the top.
People and Animals
Many people live in the Himalayas. The Sherpa people help climbers as guides and carry supplies. Explorers have also found special animals there. The snow leopard hides in the rocks, and the red panda lives in the trees. Some people even tell stories of a mysterious creature called the Yeti.

- The Himalayas are still growing about half an inch taller every year.
