Blueberries
Blueberries
Blueberries are tiny round fruits with a deep blue color. They grow on bushes that can be small or tall. Each berry has a little crown shape on one end. Blueberries taste sweet with a touch of tart. They are one of the few foods that are naturally blue.
Blueberry Bushes
Blueberry bushes have shiny green leaves and small white or pink flowers. The flowers look like tiny bells. After the flowers, green berries grow and turn blue as they ripen. Some wild blueberry bushes grow close to the ground in forests. Others are grown on farms and can be as tall as a person.
Packed With Goodness
Blueberries are sometimes called a superfood. They have things in them called antioxidants that help keep your body healthy. They are also low in calories and full of vitamins. People put blueberries in pancakes, muffins, and smoothies. You can eat them fresh, frozen, or dried.
