How Pizza Is Made

To make pizza, you start with dough. Dough is made from flour, water, yeast, and salt. The dough is rolled out into a flat, round shape. Next, cook's spread tomato sauce on top. Then they add cheese and toppings. The pizza is baked in a very hot oven. The crust gets crispy and the cheese melts. Soon it is ready to eat!

The History of Pizza

Pizza comes from Naples, a city in Italy. Long ago, people there ate flatbread with simple toppings. In the 1800s, a baker made a special pizza for the Queen of Italy. It had red sauce, white cheese, and green basil. These are the colors of the Italian flag. It was called Margherita pizza. Later, people from Italy moved to America. They brought pizza with them, and it became very popular.
