Mount Denali
Mount Denali is the highest mountain in all of North America. It stands tall in the state of Alaska. The peak is covered in snow and ice all year round. The name Denali means 'the high one' in a Native Alaskan language.
A Giant Mountain
Mount Denali is over 20,000 feet tall. That is higher than a jet plane often flies. The mountain sits in Denali National Park. Bears, moose, wolves, and eagles live in the park below. Many people visit every year to see the mountain and the wild animals.
Climbing Denali
Climbing Mount Denali is very hard and dangerous. The weather changes fast and storms come quickly. Climbers must walk for days through deep snow. They wear special clothes to stay warm. Only the strongest and most careful climbers make it to the top.
