Headaches
A headache is a pain you feel in your head or face. Most headaches are not serious. They can be caused by not drinking enough water, being tired, or feeling stressed.
What Causes Headaches
Many things can cause a headache. Not drinking enough water is one of the most common causes. Skipping meals, not getting enough sleep, or staring at screens too long can also cause them.
Stress and loud noises can trigger headaches too. Sometimes a headache comes with a cold or the flu.
Making a Headache Go Away
Drink a glass of water and rest in a quiet, dark room. A cool cloth on your forehead can feel nice. Try to relax and take deep breaths.
If headaches happen often, talk to a doctor. They can help figure out why they keep coming back and what to do about them.
Fun Facts
- Your brain itself cannot feel pain because it has no pain receptors.
- Headaches are caused by signals from nerves, blood vessels, and muscles around your head.
