Hydration

Your body needs water to work. In fact, about half of your body is made of water. When you drink enough water, you feel good and have lots of energy. This is called being hydrated.

Why We Need Water

Water helps your body do almost everything. It helps you think clearly. It helps you breathe and move. Water keeps your skin healthy. It also helps your body get rid of things it does not need. Without water, your body cannot work right.

How Much Water to Drink

Kids should drink about five to eight cups of water each day. You need even more water when you play sports. Carrying a water bottle is a great idea. If you feel thirsty, your body is telling you to drink. Fruits like watermelon have lots of water too.
