MyPlate

MyPlate is a helpful guide made by the United States government. It shows a plate with four sections and a small cup on the side. Each part of the plate stands for a food group. MyPlate helps kids and grown-ups plan healthy meals.

Parts of the Plate

The plate is split into four colored sections. Green is for vegetables and red is for fruits. Orange is for grains like bread and rice. Purple is for protein like chicken or beans. The blue cup next to the plate stands for dairy, such as milk or yogurt.

Using MyPlate

MyPlate helps you see how much of each food to eat. Fruits and veggies should fill half of your plate. Grains and protein fill the other half. Try to pick whole grains and lean proteins. MyPlate makes healthy eating easy to understand.
