Peer Pressure
Peer Pressure
Peer pressure happens when people your age try to influence what you do. Sometimes it is positive, like encouraging you to study. Other times it pushes you to do something wrong or unsafe.
Positive and Negative Peer Pressure
Positive peer pressure is when friends encourage you to do good things, like joining a club or being kind. Negative peer pressure is when someone tries to get you to break rules or do something dangerous.
It can be hard to say no, especially when you want to fit in. But making your own good choices is always the right thing to do.
How to Handle Peer Pressure
Practice saying no in a firm but friendly way. You can say, No thanks, that is not for me. Walk away if you need to. Find friends who respect your choices.
Talk to a trusted adult if someone keeps pressuring you. You are the boss of your own choices.
Fun Facts
