Stranger Safety
Stranger Safety
A stranger is a person you do not know. Most strangers are nice, but some are not. Stranger safety helps you know what to do when someone you do not know talks to you. It is a smart way to stay safe.
Safe Rules to Follow
Never go anywhere with someone you do not know. Do not take candy, toys, or rides from strangers. If someone makes you feel scared or uncomfortable, walk away. Tell a trusted grown-up right away. It is okay to say no to a stranger, even if they seem nice.
Finding Help
If you get lost, look for a safe grown-up to ask for help. A police officer, teacher, or store worker is a good choice. A mom with kids is another safe person to ask. Know your full name, parents' names, and phone number. Memorize your home address too.
Fun Facts
- You should have a family code word that only you and your parents know.
- It is safer to stay in groups than to walk alone.
- Trust your feelings if something seems wrong.
