The Celts
The Celts were ancient people who lived in many parts of Europe. They spread from Ireland all the way to Turkey. The Celts were known as brave warriors and skilled artists. They lived in small villages and big hilltop forts.
Celtic Life
The Celts lived in round houses made of wood and straw. They were farmers who raised animals and grew crops. They also made beautiful jewelry out of gold and bronze. Celtic art had swirls and knotted patterns that are still popular today. Music and storytelling were very important to them.
Celtic Warriors
Celtic warriors were famous for being fierce fighters. They sometimes painted their skin blue with a plant dye called woad. They fought with long swords, spears, and wooden shields. The Romans wrote about how brave the Celts were in battle. Some Celtic women also joined their men in fighting.
