The Mughal Empire
The Mughal Empire was one of the greatest empires in Indian history. It was founded in 1526 by Babur, a warrior from Central Asia. The Mughals ruled most of India for over 300 years. They are famous for their beautiful buildings, art, and rich culture.
Great Mughal Rulers
Babur founded the empire by winning the Battle of Panipat in 1526. His grandson Akbar was one of the greatest rulers. Akbar respected all religions and invited scholars from many faiths to his court. Shah Jahan built the famous Taj Mahal as a memorial for his wife.
Mughal Culture
The Mughals created stunning architecture with domes and gardens. They painted beautiful miniature paintings and loved music and poetry. Mughal food and cooking styles still influence Indian cuisine today. The empire slowly weakened and ended when the British took control of India.
