LEGO
LEGO bricks are tiny plastic blocks that click together. You can use them to build houses, cars, castles, and so much more. They are one of the most popular toys in the world.
How LEGO Got Started
LEGO was invented in Denmark by a man named Ole Kirk Christiansen. He started making wooden toys in 1932. Later, his company began making plastic bricks that snap together. The name LEGO comes from Danish words that mean "play well."
The first LEGO bricks were simple blocks. Over time, the company added wheels, windows, and tiny people. Today there are thousands of different LEGO pieces.
Why Kids Love LEGO
LEGO lets you build anything you can imagine. You can follow the instructions to make a set, or you can create your own designs. Many kids spend hours building and rebuilding with LEGO.
There are LEGO sets based on movies, space, cities, and more. Some people even build giant LEGO sculptures taller than a house. LEGO theme parks called LEGOLAND let families see amazing LEGO creations.
