Post-it Notes
Post-it Notes
Post-it Notes are small squares of paper that stick to things. They have a sticky strip on the back. You can write on them and stick them almost anywhere. When you pull them off, they do not leave any marks. They were invented by a company called 3M in 1974.
A Happy Accident
A scientist named Spencer Silver was trying to make a super strong glue. Instead, he made a glue that was very weak. It could stick and come off again without making a mess. Another scientist named Art Fry thought of using it on paper. That is how Post-it Notes were born.
How They Are Used
Post-it Notes are great for writing reminders. You can stick them on your computer, book, or fridge. Teachers use them in class for fun games. Workers use them to keep track of ideas. They come in many bright colors like yellow, pink, and blue.
