What Do Farmers Do

Farmers grow fruits, vegetables, and grains that we eat every day. Some farmers raise animals like cows, chickens, and pigs. Farming is one of the oldest and most important jobs in the world. Without farmers, we would not have food on our tables.

A Farmer's Day

Farmers wake up very early, often before the sun rises. They feed their animals, water their crops, and check on their fields. During planting season, they use tractors to prepare the soil and plant seeds. At harvest time, they pick or cut the crops that are ready to eat.
