What Do Scientists Do
Scientists are curious people who study the world to answer big questions. They do experiments and look for patterns in nature. Scientists have helped us understand everything from tiny germs to faraway stars. Their discoveries make our lives better every day.
How Scientists Work
Scientists start by asking a question about something they notice. Then they make a guess, called a hypothesis. They do experiments to test their guess. They write down what they learn so other scientists can study it too. This is called the scientific method.
Types of Scientists
There are many kinds of scientists. Biologists study living things like plants and animals. Chemists study what things are made of. Physicists study energy and how things move. Some scientists study volcanoes, oceans, or even outer space.
