Where Do Fairy Tales Come From?

Two famous brothers from Germany, named Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, wrote down many old stories. A man from Denmark named Hans Christian Andersen also made up his own fairy tales. Some tales, like Cinderella, have many different versions from many lands.

What Makes a Fairy Tale Special?

Most fairy tales have magic in them. You might find a fairy godmother, a wizard, or a magic spell. The good characters in the story often face big problems, but they are brave and kind. The bad characters try to stop them, but in the end, good wins. Many fairy tales teach us a lesson, like being honest, kind, or working hard. They also use numbers like three, such as three wishes or three little pigs.
