The Hindi Language
Hindi is one of the main languages of India. About 600 million people speak Hindi. It is written in a script called Devanagari. This script has a line that runs across the top of the letters. Hindi is also spoken in parts of Nepal and other countries.
Hindi Writing
Hindi uses the Devanagari script. This script has 46 letters. You can see a long line at the top of each letter. Hindi is written from left to right. Many other languages in India also use this script.
Hindi in Movies
India makes many movies in Hindi. These movies are made in a place called Bollywood. Bollywood makes more films each year than Hollywood. Many Hindi words are used around the world. Words like jungle, shampoo, and pajamas all come from Hindi.
