Apollo

Apollo was one of the most important Greek gods. He drove a golden chariot that pulled the sun across the sky each day. He was also the god of music, poetry, and healing. His twin sister was the goddess Artemis.

God of Many Things

Apollo had more jobs than almost any other god. He brought the sun each morning with his golden chariot. He played beautiful music on his lyre, a stringed instrument. He could also heal the sick or send plagues when angry.

The Oracle at Delphi

Apollo had a famous temple at Delphi in Greece. People traveled there to ask questions about the future. A priestess called the Oracle would give them answers. Kings and generals visited Delphi before making big decisions.
