Animal Communication

Animals have many ways to send messages to each other. Birds sing songs to attract mates. Dogs wag their tails to show they are happy. Bees dance to tell other bees where to find flowers. Animals are great communicators!

Sounds and Calls

Many animals use sounds to communicate. Wolves howl to talk to their pack. Dolphins make clicks and whistles underwater. Frogs croak loudly to attract mates. Each animal has its own special sounds.

Body Language and Smells

Animals also use their bodies to send messages. A cat arches its back to look bigger when scared. Gorillas beat their chests to show strength. Many animals mark their territory with special scents that other animals can smell.
