Giant pandas are one of the most beloved animals in the world. They have distinctive black and white fur. Pandas live in the mountain forests of central China. They are a symbol of wildlife conservation around the world.

Bamboo Lovers

Pandas eat almost nothing but bamboo. They spend about 12 hours a day eating! A panda can eat up to 80 pounds of bamboo every day. Even though they are classified as carnivores, bamboo makes up 99 percent of their diet.

Giant pandas were once endangered, but conservation efforts have helped their numbers grow. China has created many panda reserves to protect their forest homes. Pandas are born tiny, weighing only about 3 to 5 ounces, which is about the size of a stick of butter.
