Jackals

Jackals are medium-sized wild dogs that live in Africa and parts of Asia. They are clever and adaptable animals. Jackals can hunt alone, in pairs, or in small groups. They are known for their loud, wailing howls at dawn and dusk.

Clever Scavengers and Hunters

Jackals eat both plants and animals. They hunt small mammals, birds, and insects. They also scavenge leftovers from bigger predators like lions. Jackals are very quick and can run up to 40 miles per hour to escape danger.

Loyal Partners

Jackals usually mate for life. Both parents help raise their pups together. Older siblings sometimes stay to help care for new pups. A jackal pair works as a team, with one distracting prey while the other sneaks up from behind.
