Lions are one of the biggest cats in the world. They live in groups called prides. Male lions have big, fluffy manes around their heads. Lions are sometimes called the King of the Jungle, but they actually live in grasslands.

Where Lions Live

Most wild lions live in Africa, south of the Sahara Desert. A small group also lives in India. Lions like open grasslands where they can hunt. They rest in the shade during the hot afternoon.
