Octopuses

Octopuses are some of the smartest creatures in the ocean. They have eight arms covered in suction cups. Octopuses have blue blood and three hearts! They live in oceans all around the world, from warm tropical waters to cold deep seas.

Master of Disguise

Octopuses can change their color and texture in less than a second. They use this ability to hide from predators and to hunt. Some can make themselves look like rocks, coral, or even other animals. They can also squeeze through tiny spaces.

Big Brain

Octopuses are very intelligent. They can solve puzzles, open jars, and even escape from tanks. Two-thirds of their neurons are in their arms, so each arm can taste and feel on its own. They have been seen using coconut shells as shelters.
