Squirrels
Squirrels
Squirrels are furry rodents found almost everywhere in the world. They are known for their bushy tails and love of nuts. Squirrels are excellent climbers and jumpers. They can leap up to 10 times their body length between trees!
Nut Collectors
Squirrels spend a lot of time gathering and hiding nuts for winter. A single squirrel can hide thousands of nuts in one season. They use their sharp sense of smell to find the nuts later, even under snow. But they forget where they put many nuts, which helps new trees grow.
Acrobatic Animals
Squirrels are incredible acrobats. They can run down trees headfirst by rotating their back feet. Their fluffy tail helps them balance and also works as a parachute if they fall. Squirrels communicate with each other through chirps and tail flicks.
Fun Facts
