Storks

Storks are big birds with long legs and long beaks. They are often white or black and white. Storks live in many parts of the world. They like wet places like swamps and marshes. They are strong fliers and travel long distances.

What They Eat

Storks eat frogs, fish, bugs, and even small snakes. They wade through shallow water to hunt. Storks use their long beaks to grab their food. They swallow their meals whole. Some storks follow farmers to catch bugs in fresh fields.

Big Nests

Storks build huge nests made of sticks. They often build them on rooftops, poles, or tall trees. The same pair of storks may use the same nest for many years. Their nests can grow to be very heavy. Baby storks stay in the nest for a few months.

Fun Facts
