Wild Boars
Wild Boars
Wild boars are wild pigs that live in forests around the world. They have thick bristly hair and long snouts. Male boars grow sharp teeth called tusks that stick out of their mouths. Wild boars are the ancestors of farm pigs.
Eating Habits
Wild boars will eat almost anything. They dig in the ground with their snouts to find roots, bugs, and worms. They also eat nuts, fruits, and small animals. This is called being an omnivore. Wild boars use their strong noses to smell food hidden under the dirt.
Baby Boars
Baby wild boars are called piglets. When they are born, they have stripes on their brown fur that help them hide. The stripes go away as they get older. Piglets stay close to their mother, who protects them from danger. Wild boar families are called sounders.
